Identity

 The dictionary of identity is...

the qualities, beliefs, etc.make a particular person or group different from others. As children grow, they establish their own identities

In my own words, Identity means...

With regard to human development, identity refers to the stable, defining characteristics of a person that makes them an individual. Having a solid sense of identity requires a thorough understanding of oneself, including one's own traits, preferences, thought patterns, strengths, and weaknesses.

Identity relates to me because...

Identity and Self Esteem. Identity and self-esteem are closely related and developing self-esteem and a strong sense of identity are very important to good mental health. Your sense of identity has to do with who you think you are and how you perceive yourself. It's about how you define yourself.

Identity is important because...

Identity also helps us to make decisions and to know how to behave. ... But strong identities can also be dangerous. The drive to protect your identity can be overpowering. Sometimes we can get so caught up in this that we neglect other important things: like being open-minded, truth-seeking, and kind to others.
