Music

What is the instrument you have chosen and why did you choose it?
I choose the ukulele because every time i preformed I always play the piano and nothing else. I wanted to play something a bit different from last semester.

What song did you choose and why?
I picked I don't want to talk about it, I choose this song because it was a nice relaxing song to play.

What is the song about?
It's about relationships and having a broken heart

Are you nervous about preforming?
Yes because I always wanna get out of the room but I still do my preference so I can finish what I started.

What part of the song is the hardest to learn?
All because I don't really know who to play but I'm learning as I go.

The beginning Of Coraline

Doll, Lulaby - Made up words suggest what?
a. small kids.

In the opening scene music is used effectively to create an atmosphere. For example, tempo, chords, and dynamics make it feel like a creepy lulaby. The tempo starts slow but gets faster which builds intensity. It is in the minor key which makes it feel sad. This makes the audience think the film will be mysterious, scary, and creepy.

Coraline found the second eye for the ghost kids and everything in there froze
Coraline went to the circus and tried to get the last eye but lost the stone she needs but then the black cat came and killed the rat and found the last eye for Coraline so as soo as Coraline got the last eye the world started to come apart so she ran into the house and the house slowly came apart.
Coraline runs into the house with the cat to try and find the last two eyes for her parents
she goes into the room and finds her evil mother with no skin just bones and metal, she is barely wearing clothes and she looks like a spider and demeaned
she finally finds her parents eyes and tries to escape but the mother creates a spider web and surrounds her with it
Coraline tries to escape the web but the evil mother followers her from where she is crawling
Coraline returns to her own world and everything goes back to normal
The world looks more normal now with no evil looking and no dark clouds
Coraline goes to bed later that night
Coraline wakes up in the middle of the night and knows she is still in danger so she gets a blanket and goes to the well to through the key into the well because there is only one key to the evil mother's world
But the hand of the evil mother somehow got out of the fake world to trie get the key from Coraline but Whyborn comes to help her because he finally believes what Coraline says.
At the end of the cat is a sign of the real world still there

SOCIAL STUDY

What have I learned? I learned a lot of things about Maori art and their different meanings. Ta Moko means a traditional tattoo to the face or body. Ta Moko is a core component of Maori culture an outward expression of commitment and respect.

Why I choose this design? I choose this design because it looks cool. I would put a photo of how my design looks like but my camera won't work.

Horror Camp Story

I and my three closest friends (Fia, Gedd, and Sabby), decide to go camping. We arrived and set up camp nearly three miles away from where we left my car. Late that evening, as we sat around the campfire roasting marshmallows, one of my friends reveals a deep dark secret that turns what was to be a fun weekend into one of the scariest weekends of my life.

The story starts when our friend Gedd made a group chat with Fia, Sabby, and I. I didn’t get the message until the morning because I fell asleep early. The message that Gedd sent us was If “we would like to go camping on the abandoned grounds for the weekend?” I looked at what the other two wrote and saw Sabby say he’s “keen to go” and Fia said “no at first because she didn’t like anything to do with horror and abandoned things around her.

After she said that Gedd and Sabby tried to convince her because they wanted the whole group of friends going. Fia finally agreed to go but she said she’ll wait for me (Si) to see what I think of her going. As soon as I saw it, I said I would love all of us to go but it’s really Fia’s choice if she wanted to go. Before I said that Ima free for the weekend.

After awhile Sabby, Fia, and Gedd saw what I wrote and we all agreed to go. Gedd quickly texted back to everyone if we wanted to go shopping with her to buy the things we needed for the camp. We all replied with “YES” Gedd said lets meet at the old picnic table we always went to when we were kids. Gabby asked me for a ride because his parents took his car for work. We all got ready and arrived at the same time. Gedd and Fia arrived in the same vehicle and Sabby and I arrived in the same vehicle. Gedd and Fia were the closest to each other as the same for me and Sabby.

We all went into the mall and got everything we needed. We all got the same things. We got a torch, 1 big family tent, 4 sleeping bags, food, a pot, a lot of matches and a whole heap of things. We had 2 days to pack everything else we needed. While we were buying our things the person at the counter asked us where we are going camping, Gedd quickly answered “were going to the abandoned place” The counter replied with “are you sure you wanna go there?” We all said there’s nothing to be worried about because we know there ain’t no ghosts that live.

ESOL

What are your learning goals for this semester?
For ESOL there are two new students and I am one of them. We got asked if we can blog about what our learning goals are for this semester. For me, I have set my goals, and they are
  • Learn to spell by the end of the semester or even during this semester
  • Learn how to read during this semester
Explain why these are your goals?
The reason why I choose these goals is that first with my spelling I don't really spell the words properly or I ask someone near me to spell the word. I also don't spell the word right even tho I know how to. Second, with my reading, I am not a good reader of my age if you know me. But other than that when I read I sometimes struggle with my pronunciation. Sometimes it takes time for me to sound out the words. So this is why I picked these goals for this semester.

Give examples of things you can do to help you reach these goals.
How I can reach my first goal is to always practice my spelling at home and at school like using flashcards, spelling bee, and scrabble or I can ask someone to test what rate I am on my spelling. I can also go to my parents and siblings for them to help me.

For my second goal, I can always read books for my level and read every day so when my class does reading my teacher can pick me to read. I also can go practice my pronunciation on words I can't say. When I see a word I can't say or spell I can clap out the sounds of each part to learn fast.

I hope that one day I will be able to reach my goal because in English I am practicing my spelling and my reading so when we do 10 minutes or reading every lesson I can read along instead of just listing.
